EMILY JAURY
17, INDONESIA/SAN FRANCISCO, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION STUDENT
EMILY’S STYLE: I don’t really have a specific style that I follow every single day but I really like bold colors, edgy leather outerwear, and statement necklaces. I guess I could say that my style is a mixture of femininity and monochrome, with a little bit of edge; I always try to keep my outfits simple and avoid going too over the top.
INSPIRATION: I get a lot of inspiration from street-style blogs and Lookbook profiles. I love seeing how people can mix and match different prints or colors together and still be able to wear it without trying too hard. It is something that I’m still learning.
FAVORITE FASHION MAGAZINE: I don’t actually read a lot of fashion magazines; I’m more into reading online fashion blogs. The Blonde Salad, Fashion Toast, Poisepolish, and Cupcakes & Cashmere are a few of my favorites blogs that I open on a daily basis.
CURRENTLY: I am currently an Undergraduate student with Business Administration as my major. Being a student has always been my top priority and it typically takes most of my time, so I don’t have any current projects in fashion [aside from my lookbook] right now. However, I would definitely love to have more fashion-related opportunities, such as starting up a blog, in the future.
IF YOU HAD TO ONE WEAR PRINT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE… This is a hard question for me because I don’t usually use a lot of prints. But if I had to wear one print for the rest of my life, it would probably be stripes because it is always on trend no matter what the seasons are.
THIS SEASON: Summer has always been my favorite season and I always go for the bright, vibrant colors, flowing dresses, metallic pants, and denims with metal or studs details. With the hot weather, I particularly love to keep things simple and pair up basics with statement neon necklaces to spice up the outfit.
SUMMER LOVIN: I am planning to go back to Indonesia and visit my family there for the summer. Hopefully, I’ll get the chance to go to Bali, chill at the beach and break out my shorts and bikinis to fight off the heat.
